Announcing the same, the Facebook-owned messaging tweet from its official Twitter account says, "Animated stickers are available now, and this is available on Android, iOS & desktop version also."

The newly introduced animated WhatsApp Sticker includes Rico's Sweet life, playful Hinomaru, Bright days, Moody foodies, and chummy chum chums.

How to download Animated stickers on Whatsapp?

1. Open any WhatsApp chat
2. Click the 'Emoji' icon on the bottom bar.
3. Select the sticker options found at the end of the screen
4. Click on the "+" plus icon seen on the extreme right of the sticker section.
5. This will open the built sticker store inside WhatsApp that lists several sticker's packs to choose from.
6. You will notice the above mention new sticker pack has been added to All stickers' list and this comes with a play button right next to them, differentiating them for the regular one. 
7.  Click the sticker pack you want to download, and preview sticker by tapping them.
8. Once you make a decision, you can click on the "Download" option at the bottom of the screen.
9. Once it is downloaded, Animated Stickers will now be added to the sticker section, & users can now choose to use them in many chats they need.
