The extra charge of Rs 0.06 per minute will not be charged for Jio-to-Jio voice calls for all incoming calls and also for connecting to a landline and data calls made for voice or video using various applications like WhatsApp and Apple FaceTime.
The TRAI fixed the Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) Rs 0.06 per minute for calling Jio to another mobile network. IRC is a charge paid by one operator (Jio) to another operator(Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, BSNL) for connecting the network between them.
For example, if you are calling to your friend having other networks like Airtel, BSNL, etc, and you are using Jio then the Jio will pay an amount of Rs 0.06 per minute to your friend's networks such as Airtel, BSNL, etc for connecting your call from your network to other networks.
Till today, Reliance Jio offering its Jio users free of any cost and unlimited voice calls for IUC without specifying any mobile network.
